Terms of Service

Learby (learby.io) is an online platform for learning Chinese operated by WheatNd LLC (Улаанбаатар, Монгол Улс). By registering and using the site you agree to the terms below.

1. Account

One person, one account. You must provide accurate details and keep your password private.
You are responsible for everything done through your account. If you suspect it has been compromised, change your password immediately.
This platform is intended for users aged 13 and over. Accounts found to belong to children under 13 will be deleted.

2. Acceptable use

In chat, the feed and comments, do not post abuse, threats, sexual content, hate speech, advertising or unlawful material.
Do not impersonate others, scrape content with automated tools, or attempt to attack the system.
Accounts that break these rules may be suspended or deleted without prior notice.
Every user can report objectionable content with the "Report" button and block an abusive user with "Block". We review every report within 24 hours, remove offending content and suspend accounts where needed.
An automatic filter runs on all publicly visible text — content containing inappropriate language is never published.

3. Intellectual property

The vocabulary, example sentences, audio recordings, reading and writing material and their arrangement are the intellectual property of Learby and are protected by copyright.
Copying, redistributing, selling or republishing them elsewhere without permission is prohibited. Personal study use is permitted.
Content you post (posts, comments, notes) remains yours; you grant us the right to display it on the site.

4. Paid membership (⭐ Learby Gold)

Product: "Learby Gold" (⭐ Gold member). Duration: 1 month or 1 year. It is an auto-renewable subscription. The price is shown in your local currency in the in-app purchase sheet and on the App Store before you buy.
What it unlocks: the free limits on reading, writing and listening exercises, books, video topics and PDF material are removed. When the subscription ends the limits return; your progress, notes and account stay intact.
Payment: for purchases made through the Apple App Store, payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing and cancelling: after purchase you can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. A current, already paid period cannot be cancelled mid-term — service continues until the end of that period.
Refunds: refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). We adjust the entitlement according to Apple's decision.
Free trial: if a free trial is offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.
Price changes: if the price changes we notify you in advance and, where required by Apple, ask for your consent. Without consent the subscription is not renewed.
⭐ bought on the web: ⭐ obtained by bank transfer on learby.io is SEPARATE from Apple and does not auto-renew. ⭐ obtained either way unlocks the same features on both web and app.
Privacy: how purchase data is processed is described in our Privacy Policy (learby.io/privacy).
These Terms of Service also serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA) for purchases made through the Apple App Store.

5. Availability

The platform is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Service may be interrupted for maintenance or technical reasons. We will give notice where possible.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
